Description
Albendazole is a broad spectrum dewormer which belongs to the group of Benzimidazole-derivatives. It is active against gastro-intestinal roundworms, lungworms and tapeworms in cattle, sheep and goats. 2.5% liquid is also active against eggs of roundworms and liver flukes (not against immature liver flukes).
Indications
Prophylactics and treatment of worm infections in cattle, calves, sheep and goats like:
Gastro-intestinal worms:Bunostomum, Cooperia, Chabertia, Haemonchus, Nematodirus, Oesophagostomum, Ostertagia, Strongyloides and Trichostrongylus spp.
Liver-fluke:Adult Fasciola hepatica.
Lung worms:Dictyocaulus viviparus and D. filaria.
Tapeworms:Moniezia spp.
Contra-indications
Administration in the first 45 days of gestation.
Side-effects
Hypersensitivity reactions.
Dosage and administration
For oral administration.
Goats and sheep: 1 ml. per 5 kg. bodyweight.
For liver-fluke: 1 ml. per 2.5 kg. bodyweight.
Calves and cattle: 1 ml. per 3 kg. bodyweight.
For liver-fluke: 1 ml. per 2.5 kg. bodyweight.
Withdrawal period
Meat:12 days
Milk: 4 days
Storage
Store in a dry, dark place between 15°C and 25°C.
Packing
1 litre per barrels (10 barrels per carton box).
